Join the Coordinating Body

Central Oregon Regional Educator Network (COREN) Coordinating Body Members work passionately to make the education system in our region more equitable for educators and students. Through collaboration and the sharing of lived experience, skills, and knowledge, together, we will prepare, recruit, support, and retain a racially diverse educator workforce that better represents our students.

What does it mean to be a COREN Coordinating Body Member?

At the Central Oregon Regional Educator Network (COREN), we believe that a commitment to equity is a journey, not a destination. We believe respect and empathy are the foundation for how we learn from each other and grow together. We commit to taking up both the learning, AND the action that will change our educational system because we believe that our equity framework needs to be more than a document on a website.

COREN is currently seeking Coordinating Body Members for the following openings:

  • Secondary teacher
  • School principal
  • Crook County School District educator
  • Culver School District educator
  • SPED educator
  • Early learning provider
  • Member of a state agency
We prioritize BIPOC applicants and applicants who fulfill more than one requirement.

CB Member Roles & Responsibilities

Be an advocate and ambassador for COREN.

You serve as an important connector between your organization or district and the work happening across our region. Conversely, we want to know what’s happening in your world and what the folks in your district need!

Commit to ongoing learning and action: equity, continuous improvement processes, and COREN work.

The CB is a powerful, committed group of thought leaders who seek systems change to better support our teachers.

Review and approve COREN spending plan and processes.

You get to have a say in what projects we prioritize and how we fund important initiatives in Central Oregon!

Attend and engage in the work!

Our CB meetings are held once a month (we bring the food!) at rotating meeting locations. You won’t want to miss these meetings!

Our CB members like being decision makers and make important connections at our meetings and events.

Stick with it!

Once you get to know us you’ll want to stick around! More than 50% of our CB members have been with us since the beginning. We’re looking for members who can commit to at least 2 years but we hope you love it and stay longer!
