Cultivating Belonging & Dignity

Equity Conferences

Description: Access to intensive 2-5 day conferences and workshops (e.g., CFEE, Taking It Up, OALA) designed to help educators understand the unique experiences of staff and students in the Central Oregon community.

Intended Audience: All educators

Elementary School/Team Implementation Support (Tier II)

Description: Targeted professional development on belonging & dignity culture and coaching sessions for school-based or team-based cohorts who have completed foundational learning and are ready to apply continuous improvement processes.

Intended Audience: School-based and team-based cohorts

Leading With Dignity

Description: Intensive, customized coaching and support for a consortium of districts ready for deep systemic work, including on-site workshops and a “train the facilitator” model for administrators.

Belonging & Dignity District Initiatives

Description: Resourcing & catalyzing district level equity teams, building cultures of safety and inclusion.

Building a Culture of Care

Foundational Workshops

Description: Regional 1.5-8 hour workshops on topics like Restorative Practices, Classrooms of Care, and Educator Wellbeing to build foundational knowledge and skills.

Intended Audience: Classified and certified educators, staff, and leadership

District/School Requested Professional Development

Description: On-demand delivery of professional development sessions on foundational Culture of Care topics tailored to specific district or school requests.

Intended Audience: Schools and districts requesting support

Culture of Care Intensive Institutes

Description: Week-long intensive institutes (held four times a year) for administrators and coaches to develop observation and coaching skills related to Culture of Care practices.

Intended Audience: Administrators and Coaches (cohorts of up to 4)

Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS) Training

Description: A regional training to implement Collaborative Problem Solving in practice, along with a train-the-trainer certification track for select regional educators to sustain the work.

Wellness Coaching Series

Description: A series of monthly wellness coaching sessions focusing on burnout symptoms, personal/systemic interventions, and wellness strategies.

Team Building & Responsive Sessions

Description: Facilitated team-building and repair sessions using Restorative Practices to address conflict and foster positive work environments.

Description: Job-embedded coaching cycles for individual teachers and intensive support for intact school teams, including direct facilitation of restorative conferences.

HDESD Summer Institute (August 10-14, 2026)

Description: An annual region-wide kick-off event featuring learning tracks on Culture of Care topics and showcasing COREN design team projects.

Regional Mentoring

District Mentor Coordinator Collaborative

Description: A collaborative group for district mentor coordinators to align practices, share resources, and co-design regional mentor training.

Administrator Pipeline Development

Description: Identification and training of potential future administrators to build a pipeline of leadership talent within the region.

New Administrator Collaborative

Description: Monthly virtual community of practice sessions and self-paced online skill-building modules for new administrators and those in the pipeline.

Amplify Network

Description: An affinity-based mentoring network for educators from historically underrepresented backgrounds, transitioning toward a member-led model.

Administrator Mentoring Program

Description: Pairing new administrators with experienced mentors (e.g. recently retired or current ESD administrators) for non-evaluative support, including training and a summer bridge integration.

School-Based Mental Health Professional Pathways

Peer Consultation Pilot

Description: Monthly regional community of practice sessions for school-based mental health professionals to review cases, reduce isolation, and connect new and seasoned professionals.

Intended Audience: School-based mental health professionals (counselors, social workers, etc.)

Professional Shared Learning Fund

Description: A fund for school-based mental health professionals to access specialized, evidence-based training relevant to their field.

School-Based Intern & Clinical Supervision Program

Description: Management of graduate student intern placements in regional schools and provision of clinical supervision for current employees seeking licensure.

Strengthening Instruction & Pedagogy

SIOP Implementation Cohort

Description: A multi-day foundational training on the Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) model followed by a year-long Instructional Practice Network with job-embedded coaching.

Intended Audience: Educators

Districts Served: Crook County School District and Bend-La Pine Schools.

Co-Teaching Implementation Cohort

Description: Foundational training and ongoing support for general and ELL teacher co-teaching pairs, including book studies, peer observation, and monthly communities of practice.

Intended Audience: General and ELL teacher co-teaching pairs (Elementary, Middle, and High School)

Tribal History/Shared History Workshop

Description: A multi-session regional workshop co-facilitated with the Native American Success Collective to provide educators with authentic curricular resources and embedded classroom support.

Intended Audience: All Educators

Rethinking Disabilities and Mathematics K-8 Cohort

Description: A regional training and cohort for school teams of SPED and general educators to challenge mindsets and create toolkits for adapting math tasks for diverse learners.

Intended Audience: School teams of SPED and general educators (K-8)

Districts Served: Bend-La Pine Schools (Open to all COREN Member Organizations upon request)

Rooted Numbers (Early Math) Cohort

Description: A program for K-1 and ELD educators to transform early math education by centering students’ cultural identities and family assets, including workshops and studio sessions.

Intended Audience: K-1 and ELD Educators.

Districts Served: Bend-La Pine Schools (Open to all COREN Member Organizations upon request)

School Counseling Systems Coaching

Description: Intensive district leadership coaching for counseling teams to implement data-driven, comprehensive school counseling programs.

Intended Audience: School Counseling Teams

Districts Served: Bend-La Pine Schools, Crook County School District, Jefferson County School District 509J, Sisters School District

Responsive Instructional Support Collaborative

Description: Design sessions for curriculum leaders, teacher leaders and coaches to analyze data and co-design professional development aligned with adoption cycles and culturally responsive practices.

Intended Audience: Curriculum leaders, teacher leaders, and instructional coaches

Districts Served: Regional

Annual Instructional Convening

Description: A networking event for participants from all instruction-focused cohorts to share implementation successes (“bright spots”) and build cross-cohort connections.

Intended Audience: Facilitators and participants from SIOP, Co-Teaching, Tribal History, Responsive PD, School Counseling, and Math cohorts
